The Wrap on the Nantucket Christmas Stroll

get ready for some holiday cheer

The Annual Nantucket Christmas Stroll is right around the corner (December 1st - 3rd to be exact) and we couldn’t be more thrilled! For those of you who’ve already been, you know why we’re so excited. But, if this is your first time going, here are a few reasons it’s the best weekend (in my opinion) to be on the island.

Shopping

We like to spend our time strolling through town looking at all the storefronts that are dressed up with Christmas decorations and splurging on all the great sales! This week, we’re offering 50% off everything on our site! Struggling to find the perfect gift for the person who has it all? Check out our gift guides on the blog for inspo!

Christmas cheer everywhere

Nantucket turns into our very own little Christmas Island during this time of year and the magic island is somehow even more magical. Brant Point gets fitted with its very own Christmas wreath to welcome all coming to the island and the streets of town are lined with trees that have been decorated by local businesses!

Filling the streets of town are holiday shoppers dressed in their best Christmas apparel--there is no shortage of Santa Clauses, elves & grinches strolling about on Main Street all weekend long! If you're looking for some fun and chic outfits to rock for the weekend, be sure to check out my post on LTK! And if you decide to go the more traditional route and wear an ugly Christmas sweater, you just might win the Ugly Christmas Sweater contest! Whatever you decide, make sure you have plenty of layers—it tends to be a cold weekend.

SAnta claus is coming to town

One of our favorite parts of the weekend is when Santa comes to town! The town crier starts at the top of town and rings his bell for everyone to follow him down to the docks to greet Santa who is escorted by the Coast Guard. Trust us, you don’t want to miss this magical moment! Once he arrives on island, he leads a parade up Main Street in a vintage firetruck before heading to the NHA Whaling Museum for the Santa meet & greet!
