This Privacy Policy describes the privacy practices of anantucketsummer llc (the “Business”) and pertains to the personal information the Business collects about its customers (referred to herein as “Customer(s)”, “You”, or “Your”) through its website and interest-based online advertising.  Specifically, this Privacy Policy will detail:

What the Business Collects

The Business may obtain certain personal information from you in connection with your activities when you shop on the Business’s website. Categories and types of personal information that the Business may collect could include the following: 

  • Personal contact information that you provide the Business, such as your full name, mailing address, email address and/or phone number when conducting a transaction with the Business;

  • Other identifying information, such as geographical location internet protocol (IP) address and/or dates and times of webpage visits, browsing or click history, or other information that may be collected by “cookies” or other means;  

  • Credit card, debit card, payment card or other financial account information that you provide us to complete a transaction;

  • A customer’s shopping history; and

  • Any other information you may provide us when visiting our website.  

Consent. 

When you provide the Business with personal information to complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, arrange for a delivery, or return a purchase, the Business will imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason and for any other related purposes, including future marketing activities.  If the Business uses your personal information for a secondary reason, such as email marketing, it will provide you with an opportunity to opt out of future marketing activities (although if you do opt out it may take some time for the Business to process your request).

You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting the Business at the email address provided below. 

How the Business Uses the Information Obtained

When the Business obtains information about its customers, such information may be used for various purposes, such as to

  • Process, manage, complete and/or account for transactions, including purchases and refund, exchange and layaway requests;

  • Provide the Business’ products and/or services to customers in order to receive, confirm, process, fulfil and/or track customers’ orders;

  • Communicate with costumers regarding their orders;

  • Identify a customer’s product and service preferences;

  • Analyze and improve merchandise selections and customer service, or identify other information, such as internet activity and browsing history, commercial information, demographic information, and geolocation data to analyze a customer’s preferences, trends and statistics;

  • Notify customers about products, services, features, promotions, events and special offerings relating to the Business;

  • Provide targeted advertising, customer support and respond to customer requests, comments and inquiries;

  • Verify a customer’s identity in certain instances (ex: returning merchandise, requesting refunds, or exercising certain rights customers may have under applicable law);

  • Secure the Business’ day-to-day operations and identify, protect against, and prevent fraud, unauthorized activity, claims and other liabilities; 

  • Comply with and enforce applicable legal requirements, industry standards, the Business’ policies and Terms of Use

  • Remember a customer’s personal, contact and/or payment information so that the customer does not have to re-enter same when re-visiting the Business’ website or purchasing the Business’ goods;

  • Customize the Business’ website  based on a customer’s likes and shopping history; and/or

  • Deliver promotional or other content to customers that is tailored to customers based on their likes or shopping history.

The Business may sometimes obtain the consent of its customers to collect their information, but consent may not always be sought. Nevertheless, the information collected serves the legitimate interests of both the Business and the customers by allowing the Business to fulfill contracts with its customers, comply with legal obligations imposed on the Business, improve its services, and  comply with its legal duty to ensure that a visitor to the website will not attempt to defraud the Business or its customers.

Information The Business Shares

The Business may share customers’ personal information with affiliated companies and brands, with third parties who provide services to the Business or its customers, with promotional partners, with social media companies, or with other third parties as it determines to be necessary or desireable in order to carry out its business or comply with any legal obligations. Examples of how the Business shares information may include, but is not limited to: 

  • Public posting and social sharing when a customer posts public comments on the Business’ website, through in-store technologies or any other type of public forum like social media sites, blogs, online reviews, etc., where a customer’s comments are accessible to the general public;  

  • Third Party partners, such as companies the Business works with to promote the Business’ products, services, offers, contests, or other promotional activities to customers;

  • Payment processing entities, such as companies the Business has partnered or contracted with in order to accept and process customer’s payment information for the purchase of goods from the Business’ website; and/or

  • To fulfill legal obligations and with government agencies, if necessary and appropriate, in the good faith judgment of the Business, so as to comply with laws and regulations, or in response to a subpoena, order or government request, or to otherwise protect the Business’ operations and the privacy, safety, property or rights of the Business and its customers. 

While the Business may share information with third parties, as described above, this Privacy Policy only applies to the actions of the Business and does not address the privacy practices of said third parties.

Squarespace.  

Our online store is hosted by Squarespace, Inc.  They provide us with the e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you.  Squarespace has advised the Business that it employs a battery of encryption techniques and security measures for its data storage, databases and platform, which measures are designed to protect your information.  The Business does not control Squarespace or its systems or security measures and cannot accept responsibility for any actions or inaction by Squarespace or its personnel or for any failure of that company’s security measures.

Customers’ Right to Control How Personal Information 

Customers have the right to make certain requests regarding their personal information, such as:

  • Reviewing the personal information the Business stores and retains about a customer, or requesting a copy of same;

  • Asking the Business to update, correct or delete their personal information;

  • Opt-out of sharing personal information with third parties in some circumstances, provided that doing so will not prohibit the Business from its normal operations or from fulfilling its services to the customer, honoring legal obligations, or responding to requests, if any, from governmental authorities; or

  • Making choices regarding whether or not they wish to receive promotional material via email.

Customers’ rights may vary depending on where the customer resides, but the Business will nevertheless make commercially reasonable efforts to satisfy reasonable requests of its customers regarding customer information. If reasonable and practical, specific requests for the modification or deletion of personal information will be honored unless doing so will prevent the Business from being able to process payments or returns, fulfill orders, complete the delivery of merchandise purchased by customers on the Business’ website, or comply with tax, audit, or other regulatory requirements.

Cookies

A “cookie” is a file that a website sends to a visitor’s computer or other Internet-connected device to identify the browser or to store information or settings in the browser. A “web beacon,” (sometimes called an internet tag, pixel tag or clear GIF) connects web pages to web servers and cookies and may be used to transmit information collected through cookies back to a web server. Most websites, including this website, require certain cookies and/or web beacons to function properly, as they help prevent crashes, display information, fix bugs, and ensure the security of a website. Those cookies/web beacons that are necessary for the Business’ website to function properly cannot be opted out of but can be removed from a customer’s web browser through the browser’s settings. By doing so, certain features on the Business’ website may thereafter not be available to the customer.

Age of Consent 

By visiting the Business’ website, you represent to the Business that you are above the age of consent in your state or country and that you have given us your consent to allow any of your minor dependents to use this site.

Protection of Children’s Privacy

The Business is concerned about the privacy and safety of children when they use the internet. As such, the Business will never knowingly request personally identifiable information online from anyone under the age of 13 without prior verifiable parental consent. The Website is not targeted to or intended for use by children. However, if the Business learns that it has received information from a child under the age of 13 without parental consent, the Business will delete said information from its database.

At this time we do not sell identifying information about you, such as your name, email address, phone number, or postal address.

They may also request the categories of personal information we have collected about them, the categories of sources of such collection, the business or commercial purpose for collecting or selling personal information, the categories of third parties with whom we share and sell their personal information, the categories of personal information we have disclosed and sold about them in the preceding 12 months, and the categories of third parties to whom we sold personal information in the preceding 12 months.

  • Deletion: California consumers have the right to request deletion of their personal information (subject to certain exceptions).

  • Opt Out of Sale: California consumers have the right to opt out of the sale of their personal information. As described above, we may sell personal information for the commercial purposes of advertising. California consumers above the age of 16 have the right to opt out of these sales at any time. We do not knowingly collect online or sell personal information about consumers under the age of 13.

  • Nondiscrimination: California consumers have the right to receive equal service and price and not be discriminated against even if they exercise any of their other CCPA rights, however, financial incentive programs may condition participation on collection of personal information. 

Changes to this Privacy Policy. 

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time and changes will take effect immediately.  Changes to this privacy policy will be posted here.  If the Business is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred to the new owner.

No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is fully secure.  While we use reasonable efforts to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information.  If we are required by law to inform you of any unauthorized access to your personal information we may notify you electronically, in writing, or by telephone, if permitted to do so by law.
